Dear kape, thank you for your quick answer. I have already done the new Highjackthis step and fixed the checked items, it also told me that I was going to delete BHO and I said OK. But immediately after that I realized that I had done it all NOT as an administrator. I could kill myself for that. Have I just ruined everything or is it still ok to proceed with MBAM? Good evening, I'm very sorry that I have to write in English but my knowledge of Flemish is very limited, so that I hope you will bear with me. I came across this forum when I looked for help today because my computer got the infamous Crime Unit Virus (Illegale activiteit gedetecteerd! etc. etc.). The "sympthoms" seem to be the same as described in other threads. The system can be used only in Safe Mode. I have only one User on it so I cannot switch. I have tried to read several threads in Flemish and I understood only partially, so I was hoping that someone could be able to help me out in English - is this possible? If not, I'm sorry to have posted this. I live in Brussels but the funny part is that I had already gotten a similar virus back in Italy a couple of weeks ago, but it was far easier to eliminate because it was based on the autoexec and it only triggered when an Internet connection was active. This Belgian one is a lot tougher and I have no idea how to solve this. Thank you in advance for any suggestion, your help is very much appreciated, Stefano
