Dit is de vraagstelling en het antwoord dat ik vond op de knowledgebase van WD issue 1201 Why doesn't my PC boot when I connect my USB drive to the computer before booting? Answer Problem: After connecting a USB drive to the PC, the computer will not boot into Windows. Cause: The motherboard has a Boot from USB device, or similar option, which is enabled in the system BIOS. Solution: In the system BIOS, disable the Boot from USB device option and the USB Legacy Support option. Doing this will allow the PC to complete the boot process to the internal hard drive and allow you to enter Windows. If this does not work for any reason, you should boot your PC before connecting the USB drive. Once the computer is fully booted into Windows, connect the USB drive and wait for the operating system to detect the drive. Important: Do not disable the USB Legacy Support if you are using a USB Keyboard. Doing so will prevent you from being able to use the keyboard during the booting sequence. Directions on how to access your system BIOS can be found in Answer ID 536: How to access the system BIOS. Note: For more information on another possible problem related to a Windows XP computer not booting with USB devices connected, please see Microsoft article 832577. Check with Microsoft Support for hotfixes related to USB devices preventing Windows startup. Also check with your computer manufacturer for BIOS updates that may likewise correct this issue.

ik heb vorige week een my book essential 2TB van WD gekocht. als ik mijn pc wil opstarten krijg ik een zwart scherm, ik heb in knowledge base gelezen dat je in de bios de usb legacy moet afzetten, als noot staat erbij dat dit niet kan indien je een usb gestuurd keyboard hebt, rara dit is natuurlijk ...het geval bij mij. als oplossing staat erbij schakel de harde schijf in wanneer je pc volledig is opgestart, wat betekent dat ik elke keer de usb plug eruit moet halen als ik m'n pc afzet, is er geen andere oplossing voor dit probleem? Ik heb al geruime tijd een probleem dat wanneer mijn pc opstaat ik niet tergelijketijd internet verbinding kan maken met mijn laptop, het is zelfs zo erg dat ik wanneer ik gesurft heb met mijn pc ik achteraf om verbinding met de laptop te maken ik de router moet resetten, waarschijnlijk is er iets mis met de instellingen maar ik ben geen wizzkid, dus vraag ik jullie hoe ik dit kan oplossen pc: geen merk, amd duocore processor, verbinding met router wireless, Windows Xp laptop: HP hdx16, wireless verbinding met router, Vista Router/modem d-link G604 Wireless indien jullie meer nodig hebben laat maar weten Bedankt Robbie:-)

Ik heb onlangs een HP HDX 16 nootbook gekocht. Nu zou die alles aan boord moeten hebben om blue ray af te spelen en via HDMI naar de TV ( Philips LCD met 3 HDMI aansluitingen) te sturen. de eerste maal dat ik de HDMI verbond met de PC en TV kreeg ik kort beeld, daarna niets meer. Zijn er instellingen die ik moet aanpassen aan pc of tv? ik dacht eerst dat het aan mediacenter lag maar nu gaat hij met power DVD 9 ook niet naar de tv. kan iemand mij helpen Groetjes Robbie
